Özet

This paper presents a MATLAB-VHDL design automation flow, which can be used to generate an UWB communication system with desired parameters. A synthesizable VHDL model is created by a series of MATLAB scripts. The MATLAB scripts also generate the testbenches and call MODELSIM for VHDL simulations. These results are then fed back into MATLAB for comparison and verification. The MATLAB scripts can generate the following blocks with desired parameters: convolutional encoder, viterbi decoder, interleaver and deinterleaver, QPSK modulator and demodulator, OFDM modulator and demodulator. These are the commonly used communication blocks in OFDM systems. This automation system is used to create synthesizable VHDL model of digital parts of a MB-OFDM UWB system. © 2009 IEEE.
