CdXZn1-XS WITH BULK-TWINNED HOMOJUNCTIONS AND RICH SULFUR VACANCIES FOR EFFICIENT PHOTOCATALYTIC HYDROGEN PRODUCTION

Özet
Photocatalysts containing rich sulphur vacancies and bulk-twinned homojunctions have showed good prospects for solar hydrogen production. In this work, we synthesized photocatalysts composed of bulk-twinned homojunction CdxZn1-xs solid solutions along with rich sulphur vacancies to promote charge transfer and prevent the recombination. The photocatalysts were prepared via a simple hydrothermal method and then characterized by X-ray diffractometer to study the phase purity and crystallographic structure. UV-vis spectra were also carried out to investigate the optical properties. The achieved CdxZn1-xs photocatalysts exhibited a high solar hydrogen production activity in comparison with the sulphur vacancies free or non-twinned CdxZn1-xS solid solutions.
