Özet
Combined fuel processor- PEM fuel cell (FP-PEMFC) system is a promising option for small scale heat and power production. An FP has three catalytic units - namely reforming, water-gas shift, and preferential oxidation - in series. A prerequisite for combining those catalytic units efficiently, and designing and sizing of an easy-to-operate FP is to develop high performance catalysts, and obtaining reliable kinetic data for each catalytic reaction. The kinetic data presented in literature are very scarce especially for reforming reactions - autothermal reforming (ATR) or steam reforming (SR); reliable data are available only for classical catalysts. In the current work ATR of propane over 0.2%Pt-10%Ni/δ-Al2O3 catalyst was investigated in order to obtain a power-law type rate expression. The orders of reaction were found as 2.42 for propane and 2.48 for oxygen. Steam was found to have neither positive nor negative effect on reaction rate.
